"In our travels we have found no region that can match the attractions of the 500-mile crescent of land and sea between the Yucatan Strait and the Gulf of Honduras" - The Cruising Guide to The Northwest Caribbean, Nigel Calder
Belize offers some of the best sailing in the world all along the reef with numerous anchorages along the cayes and yes there are small bars and restaurant dotted along the reef. The run from San Pedro to Placencia is approximately 110 miles so there is plenty to see.
Your best bet of reference is either the guide noted above or The Cruising Guide to Belize and Mexico's Caribbean Coast, Freya Rauscher.
You can find TMM Bareboat Vacations at
www.sailtmm.com , they have cats ranging from 35' to 46' (Fountaine Pajot and Lagoon's) and they will have a 32' Jeanneau shortly. They have 2 bases in Belize, one in San Pedro and one in Placencia.
Cheers,
Simon...
