Anyone out there savy on windsurfing in Ambergris Caye? Best spots to sail? Rental places with nice equipment? We'll be there in February - what are the winds like that time of year? Water temp.? Thanks a lot!

Banyan Bay Villas offer equipment for all skill levels (most of it new). The Managing Vice-President, Mr. David Childs, was key in introducing windsurfing to Ambergris Caye. He had a multi-page write up in Playboy magazine several years ago about his windsurfing school.

The winds are great in Feb.

You can't go wrong with Banyan Bay, I mention to most people that Banyan Bay is one of the nicest properties in the country.

Email Banyan Bay and ask for Mr. Child's input. He's very informative.

Sailsports Belize has the best selection of gear from beginner to expert on the island. Lot's of JP equipment from 70l boards up to 159l and beginner equipment with certified instructors. Sailsports also has rescue boats if you run into trouble.

If you check the Sailsports website they have a wind stats section with numbers from the last few years.
