We are ocean front so that answers that question. The pic's are beautiful thanks for shaing. I've forwarded them to the rest of our group. Have you been in the executive suite (s)? I'm wondering which unit it is when looking at the Palm's Webpage they show a picture of the front of the resort. I just wonder which level we would be on?

The Executive suites are on the 3rd floor. Very nice units - 2 bedroom with loft, full kitchen, living/dining room, great balcony over looking the sea.

I'm from Burnsville, used to live in Northfield though.

Havent gotten tickets still trying to convince the parents. They are a bit scared about the whole idea.

We stayed at The Palms in August on our first trip. We are staying there again in January. It is a great location and very nice.

Darla:

Stayed at Xanadu last year and had a wonderful experience. Nice size and well maintained. Also, very quiet and peaceful (which is our ideal - - we want to be able to go find the "action" but also be able to leave it behind). We never use a pool so that was not an issue. We walked into town every day, and back for dinner. Easy to do, but if you rent a cart then it would be a snap.

Seashell:

What is your preference (pros & cons) between Blue Tang and The Palms? Ever heard of Caye Casa - is it apparantly between the high school and Hotel Del Rio; is this an ok area to stay (safe, quiet, etc)? It looks nice from the pics.

To my mind, you can't really compare the Palms and Blue Tang, straight across. There are some things I really like about Blue Tang and there are others that I prefer about the Palms. The Palms is a cut, or maybe two above, with a very good location and beach area. It has private balconies and the Blue Tang has common verandas. Sometimes, the music and partying from Wet Willies, at the end of the dock out front, can get a bit annoying.

The front suites in the Blue Tang, on the second and especially on the third floor are marvelous. The pool is very small, more for wading than anything, but the deck is cute. If you end up in a unit on the north side of the building, it is right next to a side street, that can get pretty noisy, especially in the am. The beach out front is not that great, whereas the beach at the Palms . . .it is right next door to Ramon's and that is a fairly nice stretch of beach for San Pedro.

Sorry, I am not familiar with Caye Casa. However, if it is in the area you mentioned, I do generally favor the Boca del Rio area. Before you book it though, you should probably be aware that the beach in front has a vehicular road, and not just foot traffic. It's not that busy, just something I think you'd want to be aware of before you got there.
