We're heading down this Friday with our 8 month old. Do we need to bring our own baby food and diapers or can they be purchased in the markets? Also, any special considerations for the little guy in San Pedro (ie do most restaurants have high chairs?). Thanks!

I'd bring what you need. Diapers, etc are very expensive. It has been awhile since I was in Belize with one in a highchair but they were few & far between back a few years. Cribs too. No need for a stroller either unless it has off road tires as everything is sand!

Diapers are expensive here, but you should have no problems purchasing baby food at the supermarket. Many resturants now have high chairs, but if you are traveling with an infant seat that would be an alternative for those places that don't have highchairs. Saw one couple with one of the combo backpack / seats that looked wonderful for traveling with a little one.

When I travelled with little ones, I always brought along a small portable food grinder. They are inexpensive, and make life so much easier. I would get what I needed, steam it, grind it, and then spread it into ice cube trays. Freeze it, and then pop the "cubes" into a zip loc for use on a later outing. Voila!! portable Baby food......

Thanks for the advice. Chances are that he'll end up eating more sand than anything else!

I'm confused. I thought Chismera was the feminine form. That may well be the problem.
