Anyone been out to see Long Caye Island Resort yet?

Nope. I do know someone who has been out there if you need info. I met the reps at the tradeshow in April and was supposed to go out there then. But I changed my plans after meeting the reps and making a judgement about their motives in Belize!

I also met the young guys who set up the resort and to tell you the truth I have not heard positive comments about the place, from people who have been there, mainly very samll rooms with no windows and No a/c and they are set back with minimal breeze and mosquitos were a big issue also.

It certainly seems to be a good hearted attempt but by inexperinced people who are new to Belize and will certainly take a little while to learn how things run here.

Of course we all know the diving is great out there and maybe they should turn it into a backpackers escape, that crowd are less demanding and it wouuld be perfect for them where as now they are trying to charge $125 plus a night which is a little over priced for what they offer.

The best spot is yet to be developed

Shame though I have fond memories of many trips camping at Half moon and Long Caye when they both were deserted with the exception of the lighthouse keeper and his dog of course.

Yes and a 24 hr state of the art medical facility staffed with specialist. I hope they are not counting on drop in biz. Their web site is humorous.
