I'm male, traveling alone, looking to dive and party with the best in San Pedro, and this msg board has provided some helpful insight, thanks to the contributors. My situation, my flight into Belize City on Thurs, Nov. 20th is scheduled to arrive at 2:15pm. From what I've read, customs, puddle-jumper, etc., will put me into San Pedro ~3:30pm? I'll be staying 4 nights, don't have hotel reservations, and would like to go visit several hotels to see what best suits my needs & expectations (don't plan on being in the hotel except to sleep)and from what I've read I also might be able to negotiate a better walkin deal. If it gets warmer than 70 at night I need A/C. Not sure what balance I prefer, in town & convenient to most of the pubs & eateries (& maybe cheaper accommodations) or more secluded north side (& maybe nicer/better value accommodations). Is there any suggestions you guys might have as to a method to store my luggage temporarily, and mode of transportation from the airstrip, and in town while I tool around looking at hotels? Other recommendations? Thanks. Go LSU!

The water taxi office located on the pier with Shark's Bar has lockers for rent by the hour.

So I guess take a cab from the airstrip to Sharks and roll my stuff down the pier? Does the water taxi office have a website/hours of operation info?

When you arrive just pick a taximan and throw yourself on his mercy. He'll fix you right up.

Hey Pappaflo - thanks for the info. Any idea what kind of rates I can expect, best person/way to get the best? Thinking about bringing some good cajun food down, any suggestions on what to bring, not to bring, methods, etc?

You can usually just leave your stuff at the Tropic Air or Maya Air office while you look around. Sounds like most of the places you will be interested in are in town and thus walking distance from the airstrip. Start at Rubie's and work your way down front street. Many small cheap local hotels on that road. Most will not have AC though. Probably don't need it at this time of year anyway. If you want to get further from town, rent a bike & go looking. Make sure you get your bags before the airlines close for the night (6-ish!) Most of the hotel offices also close around 6 ish so you will have to hustle somewhat if you go far out of town.

I used to be full time in Taos but now I am full time in El Paso and part time in Taos. Yeah - most of the hotel offices close around 6. You'll need to check in before then or make special arrangements.
