Well, here is still another question. What would you suggest to dive or snorkel Shark Ray Alley and Hol Chan Marine and why????
Don't know what I would do without this board and all the information I'm recieving!
Thanks everyone, can hardly wait ~ 79 more days and we're there!

Snorkel both. You can dive Hol Chan but you are not allowed to dive Shark Ray (very shallow for one thing). Hol Chan is often a check out dive but a lot of people prefer to snorkle and save dives for outside the reef.

snorkel the shallow parts, divers do it deeper...

Just to clarify, Shark/Ray Alley is a part of the Hol Chan Marine Reserve and has been, technically, for several years.

Snorkel both and then do a night dive at Hol Chan - did one last year and it was fab! Never seen so many huge eels at one time before.
