My husband and I will be traveling to Ambergris Caye May 28 - June 5th. We are looking for recommendations of where to stay - we want to be right on the beach, one bedroom unit w/ kitchen would be appreciated. Thanks for your help.

You should check out The Palms website for their specials starting in May. It may be what you are looking for. Look at the "Under the Palms" special. http://belizepalms.com/packages.html

Have a great visit no matter where you choose to stay. mobunny

I think you can't go wrong with one of the small condotels/suites resorts. On the island, just about everything is right on the beach.

Quality places include (but not limited to) Banyan Bay (but all are two bedroom and larger), Xanadu, The Palms and if you want to be North, Belizean Shores. Mayan Princess is pleasant and a good value, though it's in town and doesn't have a pool.

Hello, I really like Hotel Del Rio, near the cut just north San Pedro. The manager, Roberto is very helpful. They have a website, under hotels in this website. best-wishes, mel s.

and don't overlook Banana Beach either - meets your criteria as well.

Try Seven Seas. It is a great little place and is about 25 ft from the water

All of the above and don't forget the rental homes and condos both north and south of the cut that are offered by Caye Management ( www.cayemanagement.com ).

You should remember that the recommendations that have been made, including mine, are not really valid without the following information, how much you want to socialize, how much privacy do you want, what is your budget, do you want true beachfront or is being "on the water" enough (many properties have seawalls), do you mind taking a water taxi to town, would you prefer to walk to town or would a golfcart rental work for you. I know I'm rambling but hopefully both yourselves and others will read this and understand that there are properties here for everyone, picking the right one for you is what will truly make your vacation.

We also just returned from AC. (11/20 - 11/28) We stayed at Banana Beach - one bedroom, full kitchen. The staff was great and the view from the 3rd floor balcony is nice!!!!. I would highly recommend it. The only disadvantage would be it's about 3 miles from town, but we just rented a golf cart. Bikes are also available.
