Looking at a week at Costa Maya Reef and understand it is about 6 miles north of town. Never been to Ambergris Key before, how do you get to resort? How about back to town for a wild raucous afternoon of shopping, dining, etc.?

They mention golf carts on several of the sites, do you rent a cart as you do at Isla Mujeres?
