Hi everyone!

First off, I have to say that this newsgroup is
great! I've been reading everything I can find
about Belize and Ambergris Caye and this is
definitely one of the more informative places
I've found.

My fiancee and I are getting married on Ambergris
Caye in February. I'm looking for a place to
have dinner. I've read that Capricorn (and places
in the north) are good places but I'm worried
that taking a boat to get there will get me
(and my dress) drenched! How wet does one get on
the boats? We're getting married at sunset so I
don't think it would be possible to use a golf

I've also thought about having a dinner on the
beach. We're staying at Caribbean Villas. Is there
a place in San Pedro that does this? It's only
my fiancee and I and another couple so it's quite
small. Would it be chilly? Being a girl, I'm
perpetually cold! smile

Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

Hey sweets, why not share your idea with all of us? You never know who might be looking for just that sort of idea and/or opportunity.

A fish and a bird can fall in love, but where will they build their nest?

Correct me if I am wrong. The few times we took a water taxi up to the Palapa bar, it seemed the people on the reef side of the boat tended to get a lot wetter than those sitting on the land side. Is this accurate?

Been there, done that, the washing machine ate the T-shirt

Staying dry or getting wet depends on conditions on the sea, and the boat. Most boats are open, so if it's raining you get wet for sure. If it's super-rough you might get some spray, etc, but on a calm night with no rain you can travel nice and dry in just about any boat.

If you want a combo of romance, fabulous food and 100% assurance that you will stay dry you should choose Mata Chica's Mambo Restaurant. Mata Chica has a boat with an enclosed passenger cabin that will keep you, your dress, and hair perfectly dry and unruffled.

Unless its raining, I'd take my chances with Capricorn. The boat ride on a starry night is terrific. Any chance you'd have time to change before you go to dinner?

Portofino does a wedding dinner at the end of their dock-which is very popular with their guests.

Hi Bobber

The reef side is the windward side, almost always. That's why that side gets wet.

Don't forget Rendezvous House for romantic dinners.

Or, if this is such a primary concern, one could skip the boat trip altogether...right?
How about someplace in town, on the beach as she suggested?
