Hello San Pedro

I am a new member to this message board, the reason I have posted a message is that away back in 1981 I spent many a happy time in San Pedro over a six month period. At the time I was posted to Belize as a member of the British Army and my regiment The Gordon Highlanders was there in the lead up to Independence.
I had such good times there in particular I remember staying at the Barrier Reef Hotel and frequenting the following bars; Tackle Box, Bamboo Bar, Milo's, Captain Loco's, Paradise and Ramons Reef Resort. Can anyone tell me if these bars are still there ? I also remember and old American guy (I think he was called Nick) he played the organ in one of the bars, I think he played the piano at a hotel in Belize City prior to moving to San Pedro. Being a Scottish Regiment we used to hold impromtu Pipe Band marches from bar to bar complete with a Drum Major and all of us using bar stools instead of bagpipes. Great memories, I womder if anyone viewing this message board remembers there Scottish visitors way back in 1981. I will close now, hope to have reply.

WOW, I just visualized your Pipe band marching with barstools to all the bars. I know you had fun, and have great memories. Thanks for sharing.

I trust JESSE will be in here to answer your questions soon, about how many of those bars still exist. Some do, and some have changed their name, but not location.

Wyllie, the Barrier Reef Hotel, was torn down, about 3 yrs ago, and a new modern building stands on that corner.
