Pam what area are you leaving from? If you are in southern Cal, perhaps you might take supplies down?

If the Pam you are looking for is me I live in BC, Canada. Unfortunately I won't be going to AC soon but I am sending animal supplies down early next week. My vet has been so helpful. The 3 four-legged babies that live in this house are so spoilt and it breaks my heart to think of the animals in San Pedro.

What kind of Pet Supplies are needed? Since my husband & I are coming down to AC (we live in So. Cal.) we can bring some. I can hit up our Vet for donations. We have 4 "kids" of our own..(2 Dogs & 2 Cats) So let me know...
Thanks!

Claire,

Your vet probably will have a good idea of what's needed for emergency first aid for our four legged friends. My guess is that dog and cat food would always be helpful since "table scraps" which are often fed to animals in Central America will be in short supply.

Kat - Thanks for the info. A few pigs ears, for the dogs would be great too!

Do you know of anyone on this board who has set anything up to make sure that the animals' relief items are distributed to the one's in need?

No, I haven't heard about distribution, but a woman who's husband is on the island said the vet's name is Bronwen.

I would mark items:
BELIZE HURRICANE RELIEF
C/O SAN PEDRO/CAYE CAULKER
C/O THE HONORABLE PATTY ARCEO
BELIZE

Attention: Bronwen - Veterinarian

My guess is that Bronwen will make use of animal medical supplies and see that someone is in charge of distributing nonmedical stuff.

Marty, if you know of a better way to do this, please advise.

Thanks a bunch! I'll see if he's available when we get there - since we'll be taking on the plane with us! :-)

I just talked with Ryan. Anyone in the Houston area with animal or people supplies can contact Ryan for shipping info. A truck is leaving tomorrow, and will be sent again once it returns.
