Hello everyone,

My wife and I are new to this board and in May we will be new to AC. Any suggestions for a Hotel that can accomodate 2 couples (suite or two bedroom) and might offer cabana type accomodations. I would liked to stay around US$150/night and close to town if possible. More importantly, Where is the best place to get a rum drink with a view of the reef, and who should I talk to about buying a condo?

Anyone going to be on the island the last week in May?

Try Banyan Bay. They have several two BR units, maybe most.

Property---Southwind Realty would be my first choice. Take your time, the island can be literally "intoxicating". Southwind and a handfull of others will make sure that you are well looked after. If you feel any pressure it's not right.

I have stayed at Coconuts and Playador(exotic caye) 2 times. Both are good places and only 15-20 min. walk from the town area. Most places are right on the beach and within clear view of the reef. Both places i mentioned have bars on the beach as do alot of the other hotels/lodges as well as some of the better restaurants.

In looking at your profile, I see that we are
from the the area. 6 or 8 of us going to be in
SP for return trip the last part of May. No
date set as yet. Have you made air reservations
yet? We always stay at CV. This is our 6th trip
down and we can't wait to get there again. Maybe
we will be there at same time and can meet up with your party.

Dan, have the "girls" get the lonely planet guide book and read it it is great and tells things about the island I did find anywhere else. the places to stay section is very informative.

My brother and his wife are hitting the island on May 21st and staying until the 31st. My wife and I will get there on the 24th and leave on June 1st. We have already booked our flights on Continental through Houston. If you are on the island at the same time it would be great to hook up with you guy's to party, if not we can party in Gulf shores this summer. Let us know what your plans are.

Dan- My wife and I will be at Ramon's from May 21 - 29. Our first time too, we can't wait! Planning on a lot of the 3 S's and partying with some laid back folks. Maybe we'll run across you guys!
