Will be staying at Portofino May 8th. I am only bring sandles will I need long PANTS??? Plan to walk to a couple of restaurants if posible.

The absolute one thing we did not need was long pants. You might take one just in case of a freak cold spell. Enjoy the time there----you will never be the same. Divedoc

May and June are the warmest months of the year in Belize.

Bug repellant - "Skintastic" by Off - the CREAM not the spray. It has aloe-vera in it, smells ok and does not dry your skin. Also I does not take the paint of chairs and melt rubber like the sprays do.

Are the BUGS bad in May?

The bugs come and go at different times of the year and right after a rain ofcourse. Sand fleas, and mosquitos I spose is what were talking about. There never real bad or anything, couple bites maybe here and there without spray. Just have some deet on ya around your legs, I would say only after determining your getting bit. There can be fleas or mosquitos attacking a guy one seat over and you never get bit. Just have some spray, or lotion. The ingredient Deet- is what keeps them away though when it comes to bug repellent.
