Hi guys! I can't get a hold of anyone after trying all the contacts on both of their web sites. Just so you know, I really am an easygoing person. Its just that if you are trying to make reservations you have to hold the plane, try to get a hold of someone, check with the sitters scedule among other things. I have frequent flier miles which fill up really quick. Is it normal to have this much trouble gettin' a hold of the Caribe? I tried the fax number klcman gave me and it worked but no response. Thanks for that by the way!

Last minute's going to be hard anywhere but, as a consummate consumer, if they didn't answer emails, the phone or the fax, I'd go elsewhere. Seems simple to me.

They will answer you at Banana Beach or Xanadu--and Xanadu is a pretty cozy little place if that's what you're looking for. A great, open pool area and rather secluded for it's location. Banana's will take fantastic care of you and, really, your concerns for privacy won't be an issue.

Hold the plane? You mean a reservation or is the Lear idling on the tarmac?

We use frequent flyer miles all the time for our flights there. It just costs more of them if you wait. On Continental, you can never get the "cheaper" ones, in my experience. I think American still dedicates some lower-points seats but you probably have to be the right caller on the right day at the right minute to get them (at least in quantity, I can't seem to travel as less than a six-pack).

Try another place and enjoy your stay. You can always go back.

If I may, it might be easier on you, and certainly on other board memebers if you keep one thread going , not 4 or so which are basically the same thing. It sends out a vibe of panic, disorder, etc... just my opinion. Might get more positive, helpful replies as well

In all fairness, once you have spent some time here, you will come to realize that telecommunications is not Belize's forte and communication is sometimes, at best, dicey. Don't go sour on CI, or anyone else for that matter. There's a 99% probability it's out of their control.

Just wanted to let you guys know, the Caribe Resort did call me and were very nice. I plan to make the reservations tomorrow. OK - I will admit, my hubby and I are stressed, but thats why we are going on a tropical vacation - always does the trick for us (and a tropical drink or two) We have 4 wonderful kids but just need a break every 2 years or so!! Thanks all!!

Very good choice. For diving don't look beyond the in-house dive center (and tell Sara I said so!).
