Is it true the FBI just picked up a kidnapper on Ambergris Caye?

My sister just got home from Captain Morgans and said a female guest was mugged just outside the resort. Is this true also?

Please clarify as I find this hard to believe. We'll be down in May04.

Kidnapper - true (a recently divorced father with his son). Mugging - never heard anything about this.

I would be interested in finding out whether or not the mugging story is true.

i just got back Friday, was staying right next door to Capt. Mrogans, never heard anything about a mugging.

yep. father took kid away, was in San Pedro, person vacationing in san pedro thought the kiddo looked odd, took pic of kiddo, told cops on return, kiddo returned to ma, father arrested...

ditto on the kidnap story. other crimes ... less than any island i've been to. i've walked the beach at 2 in the morning and only had to "put up" with the most clear stary night in the world.

It was a couple, not a single female.

The couple was on their way to dinner next door.

Perps were from another resort just up the beach.

The couple got their stolen items back with the help of the Police.

I,ll bet there are 100 times more muggings per week in the areas where most boarders live in the U.S. Don't forget we live in one of the most violent countries in the world!!
