A good rule of thumb is NOT to try one that you haven't seen on the board.... We did not have a bad meal! Elvi's Kitchen and Jambel Jerk (original) were my personal favorites...

I wouldn't say not to try one you haven't seen posted on the board. Not every tourist gets a chance to try every place and not too many locals post here. Plus new places open up or change names and/or chefs all the time. My personal rule of thumb is if you see Belizeans eating at it, try it!

shocked sorry, How about this, I ate at only at places posted on the board and was completely satisfied... If I had had more time and a less picky daughter with me I would have probably expanded my horizons.. Sorry if I offended anyone.

San Pedro is an eaters paradise as far as I,m concerned and yes there just is not enough time to make it to them all. I don't think there is a bad place only some are better. I don't drink so eating was my pleasure and I never had a meal I didn't enjoy. If you like fish you won't get any better or fresher than in San Pedro. That comes from someone who lives in one of the seafood capitals of the world, Boston. I see people asking where is the best steak???

The answer is: The U.S.A. Australia Argentina

Not San Pedro!!!!!!

Someone on this board suggested a White Italian Veggie pizza from Pepperoni's and they were right. It had banana peppers, green peppers, mushrooms, black olives, purple onion, tomato, and a great white garlic sauce! This is definitely something you don't want to miss. They also had the same thing with smoked chicken. I'm trying that next time. And the best part, it was a 14 inch pizza for $12.50 US ($25.00 Bze)!

My advice to non-fish eaters, try it on vacation. I am not particularly big on fish, but grilled snapper or grouper is not like anything you will see around home. Order it, or beg a bite from someone, you could very well change your mind. The spices have something to do with it, with the texture and flavor of really fresh food. Also, if you've never tried conch, definitely have a taste. It's not fishy tasting and conch fritters or ceviche are among the greatest delicacies in the world (my opinion).

Been there, done that, the washing machine ate the T-shirt

Our favorite meal in AC was at Mata Chica, but that is a bit more pricey than some of our other favorites in San Pedro. We had a great dinner at Caliente, great breakfast a few times at Estels and a wonderful lunch-tacos at Mickey's.
