Our brand new snorkling gear is packed! I haven't snorkled since I was about fourteen and my hubby has never snorkled......but he has promised me he will learn. I can't wait.

Look out Banana Beach here comes the Canadians:) smile smile

banana beach has already seen a canadian! me! (and I'm sure a few more!! wink )

when you're having breakfast one morning there...and sergio is singing, smiling and teaching you a bit of spanish as he serves you...please say hello for alan & mikell...we really enjoyed meeting him....he's the best waiter! he remembered our names after our first time there and exactly what we liked to eat & drink. he made the start of every day special for us.

alan is a lot like your husband...likes to keep active...i'm like you...could sit in a lounge chair and read or snooze. but we thoroughly enjoyed several snorkeling trips, fishing one day, golf carting and walking the beach ...still left lots of time for R&R. it's a very laid back, slow pace kinda place...you never have to be in a rush to do anything. you'll love it!

Mikell,

It was your trip reports that finally made up our minds to book the trip. When my daughter was in Barcalona last August she ran into a guy from Costa Rico who said Belize was the most beautiful place in the world. I googled it and stumbled across this messaging board. I had decided on San Pedro and Banana Beach mostly from pictures and other info on the web but it was your trip reports that convinced my husband.

So what part of Canada.....we are on Vancouver Island off the coast of BC.

Dorothy:) smile smile

nice to know i played a part in convincing your husband...i've been singing AC's praises ever since we got back. it's not everyone's ideal place...(some poor misguided souls prefer those big Sandals/Couples resorts where you never have to mingle with local people and can pretend you're not really in a foreign country wink ) but i think most Canadians ( wink wink ...nice, friendly, laid back type of folk that we are) will thoroughly enjoy AC.

i'm from northern ontario...manitoulin island in lake huron...currently living in upstate NY with my american husband...been here 4 years...nice friendly folks here too! have travelled all over canada...love the west coast...especially vancouver island...there's something about ISLANDS, eh? stayed in sooke a few years back...beautiful part of the world!

Rego, I knew you were Canadian from the get-go! It was the "only xx number sleeps to go" that gave you away! Mikell - didn't know you were Canadian too! I'm a proud one too who lives in the US - my husband (US) read your note about Canadians being fun loving, laid back folks....etc - but he said there should be a disclaimer "just don't play spoons with them". For some reason (hmmm) he thinks we are violent spoons players! (I can't help it if he loses his balance and falls off the picnic table onto his head during a good "laid back, fun loving" game of spoons!) We are making our first trip to A/C May 28 - June 5, staying at The Palms, and can't wait!

Playing spoons? Do you mean, hanging them off your nose? Making music? Or spooning?

A fish and a bird can fall in love, but where will they build their nest?
