Hey gang! Can anyone tell me where I need to go in order to not have to spend a fortune on drinks for my approaching AC trip? I hear that alot of the bars and clubs charge quite a bit for drinks now a days if you are planning to spend a night on the town. Any suggestions on where to pick up a little rum or Belikens for not as much cash? Any place close to the airport that we can get some local alcohol? Not to sound cheap or anything, but we planned this trip at the last minute and plan to cut costs as much as possible. Thanks for the help!

Many bars have a happy hour where they serve local rum and sodas (Coke etc.) for half price. That's Bz$2.00 or US$1.00. Canucks is at 4PM daily; Coconuts is 5PM to 7Pm daily

The beer distributor is located south just down the road from the airport. You can purchase bevs there cheaper. The supermarket is opposite, you can pick up local rum there, and might I sugest the punch concentrate stuff to mix with it. Don't forget the plastic cups & straws. Your hotel should provide you with ice. Hope this helps, Have fun:)

Cholo's and BC's are my favorite hangouts. Drinks are inexpensive and the bar staff is great!
I don't know happy hour times but with there prices who cares?

In general any local rum drink is going to be about one-third to one-half the price of an imported booze drink.

In general beer prices are about the same (give or take a buck) at most bars, as the only options are overpriced, overtaxed Bowen & Bowen products (Belikin, Lighthouse, Export, etc.). You'll save a little by buying at a grocery, tienda or the distributor, but even so you'll pay at least twice U.S. prevailing beer rates. It's the Belizean way.
