Paul, those photos are second to none!!! Wow if I could take pictures like that I'd blow this stupid place I work and take off with camera in hand. Yeah, digital is handy for the computer age but there is still noting like a good old 35mm photo. My favorite camera was an old Minolta SRT101 I bought in Germany many years ago. It was stolen & you have given me the incentive to go look for a used one. Noting like that feel of heavy metal in your hand!!!! Not to mention you have to use your brain now and then!!

rebuilt my manual Canon F1. shot totally manually, it was great to have to think again.
look on ebay, there are probably a million 101's out there.

velvia is Fuji slide film. Enhances contrast and saturation. they have 3 pro slide films, Velvia is enhanced, provia is "normal" and astia is a lower contrast film for portraits.
Pretty much gave up on the "great yellow father" some years ago, Fuji just turns out a much better color film product.

i think for now it might just be tne instant camera market, although i can see them bowing out. they do make a bunch of pro films that nobody else does though, I hope they don't completely phase out. I hope Fuji doesn't follow, I just spent a fortune committing myself to silver halide photography for the foreseeable future.

i'm here in the heart of "the great yellow father"!! (love that... smile ) rochester, new york...eastman kodak built this city....employer of everyone...until huge layoffs in recent years...and yes...klcman is right...phasing out...finally figuring the future is digital...maybe too late to catch up...but trying hard!

you'd be run out town on a rail if you ever used fuji in this city! eek

raskage...no matter what you're using...it's damn good!!! but i suspect...like chloe...that the photographer is even better!! you should enter a couple in one of those competitions for sure...islands.com has an annual contest that you could take grand prize in!

Raskage, forgive me for bring this down to sea level. Everyone knows Chloe always will ask did you get a picture of Paisano? If so, please post it, thanks.
