We have been told that we will have a bottle of One Barrel in our room waiting for us in AC to kick off our trip eek . Ive seen alot of talk about it on this board, but Im not really sure exactly what it tastes like, or what it is best mixed with. Can anyone help? I cant wait. Thanks.

It's rum with sort of a vanilla flavor. A lot of people like it. I used to, until I used it to try to deaden toothache pain until I got to a dentist, so now anytime I drink it I'm reminded of that tooth ache.

The real question is, HOW and WHERE do you get it in the USA?

I've talked to friends in Miami, and you can't get it in the liquor stores there, and I figure Florida is about as close to Belize as you can get in the USA.

Pity, the fine gentle luggage handlers somehow managed to BREAK a full 1 liter bottle of it in our dive bag, even though it was padded by our wet-suits. Now anytime I need a reminder of Belize, all I need to do is suck on my wet-suit for a quick wiff of that nectar of the gods.

Anyone have a source state side for it?

thanks in advance!

Can we take a barrel home with us?

Any estimate of how much it costs on AC?

How about making jello shots with it.... Wasn't it seashell who has the recipe posted? They were delicious....
Substitute Rum for the 1 cup of cold water - buy those little cups at costco and live the dream... By the way, they do sell jello at the stores in San Pedro, about the same price as home.

I just wanted to hop in here and tell you all about my last exit from Belize. You know how Customs says you can only bring back 1 liter of alcohol or what ever..... Well that's wrong, or, the customs official did not care that I was bringing back 5 bottles of rum. And yes I did declare it. I called the ABC (I think that is the acronym) of North Carolina because that would be my first re-entry port into the U.S. and where I would have to clear customs. I was told that I could bring back 60-65, 750 milliliter bottles of wine, beer, rum, what have you. All of this alcohol has to be in your baggage that you are claiming. If you have alcohol shipped then there are different rules and Taxes. Just want all of you to know that you should not worry about bringing back more than one bottle. And hey. If you are worried that they will pour it out.... bring along a coke and have a seat with your bottle before you re-enter the country.

Below I have the Number. If that does not work call the ATF and they can get you the info.
Take care
Mark

Oh maybe a disclaimer on my last post....

I am not a lawyer, I do not have a law degree. I do not play a lawyer on TV either. All states have different laws and that is why you should call ahead of time!!!!!!

Thanks

I have brounght back a barrel of One Barrel in the past but recommend the bottles instead. The barrels are wood and dry out easily in not as humid an environment (also leak) - the rum got real thick real fast & then evaporated completely. Guess I didn't drink it fast enough but I was sure trying!!!
