For those of you who have recently returned, did anyone make use of the ATM on AC? I am reading mixed messages on previous posts as to if it is reliable or not. Also can you use your bank card for withdrawals from your bank account or only get a cash advance on your credit card. Thanks for the info.

I hear from people who use it without a problem and occasionally from people who say it was down when they tried to use it. Nothing in Belize works 100%, so I wouldn't depend 100% on it. If your ATM/debit card is on the PLUS or CIRRUS networks you should be able to tap your accounts with it. But if you have just a bank credit card not tied to your bank account you will only be able to get a cash advance.

Thanks Lan...we're planning to take enough with us, but it's nice to know that there's a back up if needed.

Thanks for all the replies. Good to know we can use the ATM if we run low on cash while there.

"they" did or your bank did?

I've used mine all over the Western Hemisphere as well as Western Europe and have yet to be charged a fee.......find a bank who will treat you right.

It appeared to be their bank - because I think my bank would have assessed it as a separate charge - but the fee was included in the original transaction.
