I realize this is a traumatic time for everyone involved. Reading what you have all been through this week has brought tears to our eyes. Our hearts go out to you all.
I have worked hard to convince my family to visit Belize, and we finally have been able to afford airfare. We have plane tickets to arrive in Belize on Dec 12th. When we heard on the news about the hurricane hitting the cayes, we were told that everything has been completely destroyed and flattened on Caye Caulker and San Pedro. I have frantically searched the internet, the Weather Channel, the news and found NOTHING on Belize and how much damage has occurred.
What a relief to find your bulletin board. I read every posting from the time of the hurricane heading toward San Pedro.
I am feeling more confident about coming. What scares me is not knowing what things will cost after the hurricane. We are on a fixed budget, and would tend to stay in the cheaper places. Is there a way to find out if these cheaper places are still standing?
Will there be enough food and drinking water if we come in December. We still want to come, but do not want to be a burden.
Any advice gratefull accepted, Cathe'

Plan to go, by all accounts the hotels and resorts will be ready for visitors. Reports on the cheaper places, sounds like they are going to be operating also. Belize IT!
