I have read that asking the hotel to stock your fridge is cheaper than getting it at the corner store...true? I was then talking to a friend who was there about 5 years ago and he recommended the brewery(bottling co?) instead. He said you have a deposit on bottles so just bring back he case and get a new one, cheapest way....true?

Coming down in 3 weeks and me and my bud drink LOTS of beer so a case will be a daily ritual...maybe bi-daily

We just got back and went to the distributor to get our beer and water. They deliver to your hotel at no charge and a case of 24 Belikin is about $38 BLZ. Not bad and ready when you need it. The distributor is easy to find--just down the road a bit south of Ramon's.

Hey Biggie, we will be down on June 13th for 6 days, maybe we can meet up for a couple of Belikins. It sounds like our beer consumption will be very similar.

What other kinds of beer can be purchased in AC?

As you will see when you arrive, Belekin is the beer of choice. There a couple types of Belikin. standatd, premium, stout, and what the locals call "Lady's beer", Lighthouse Lager. I personally didn't develop a taste for the premium, stout was a good sipping beer, and lighthouse was the light lager, similar to Heiniken by my taste buds. You can also get Heiniken, Guiness, and a fe other eastern hemisphere beers. Mexican beers are not available or even legal from what I was told. The grocery store sells "imported" beer also, that is Coors light, Bud light, etc. Very expensive. Some friends of mine down in February made the mistake of hitting the grocery first and paying up to $50.00 U.S. per case of "imported" beer. Belekin is part of the experience and typically $1.50 to $2.00 U.S. per bottle at the bars. Try to develop a taste for Belekin and enjoy. Even the standartd Belekin is stronger than most American Beers, so if yo are a seasoned beer drinker, the Belekin should suit you well......

You can get Heinken and Guiness Stout--those are about the only other 2 types we saw while we were there. There are 3 variations of Belikin though--regular, premium, and stout. They are all pretty good.
