We are going to Ambergris Caye in March 2005 and were thinking of staying at Seven Sea's, Caribbean Villas or Banana Beach. Has anyone stayed in any of these and what are your thoughts? This will be our first time and we don't want to make a mistake!!!!

We have stayed in Seven Seas (2000) and were very satisfied with it. The rooms were pretty nice, not too big though....the best thing was the pool, youd be surprised how much time you spend at the pool when you have that beautiful beach so close, but after a long day of snorkeling or diving or playing golf naked on Caye Chapel, you really appreciate that private pool they have.....my 2 cents worth

I stayed at Seven Seas once in 2001 and Banana Beach 7 times, since 2002.Seven Seas was OK, although I did not feel comfortable there. I feel as though everything that I needed is at Banana Beach, restaurant,2 pools,bar,travel/gift shop(with beach towels) and the most important a friendly staff. From the moment I walked through the door I felt like family, always aiming to please. Just my opinion. Jackie

I just returned from our trip. We stayed at Seven Seas. I agree with Jackie--it's OK, but Banana Beach is a better facility, although further from town. The Seven Seas staff is outstanding, however, except for the fella that tries to sell you time share units.

I haven't stayed at either, but find that we're happier being closer to town than Banana Beach is. Last June we stayed at Blue Tang, not far from Seven Seas. We enjoyed our stay, very small pool, but pleasant to sit around. Last visit we stayed at Belizean Reef. Wonderful place, but no pool.
I was just thinking that a year ago this weekend was my first trip to San Pedro. I sure do wish I was heading back soon. Hopefully late summer, early fall....

I just returned and stayed at Exotic Caye Beach Resort / Playador. Quick walk into town. Don and Carol are wonderful hosts. They have a beach bar called Crazy Canucks and a restaurant called Monkey Bites is on site. Open from 7:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. They also have a pool. And a new dive shop just went into business while I was there. So you can book anything and everything through Don and Carol. Tell them Shelly sent you!!!

We just returned from AC and our stay at Caribbean Villas was great as usual....No one has very much to say about CV on the board, but we have always found it perfect for our needs....No Pool...Not important to us.....GREAT view of the reef...Beautiful grounds.....All your tours can be booked from CV......Alfonso for snorkeling for sure....Pier out front with area for snorkeling No Bar, but we like to move around anyway...Very quiet and peaceful place to stay.......Not far from town, just a short walk.....The only bad thing I have to say about CV is that they now charge $5.00 per day for bike rentals.....They have always been furnished for guests in the past. Of course, things change and prices in- crease. The gounds are not as well kept as when Will and Susan were the owners, but I will stay there again on my next visit......
