I have asked this question before and I have read other posts, but I JUST CAN'T HELP MYSELF. I love reading the reactions to this one.
Favorite restaurant? Favorite meal? Favorite dish?
I am there in 5 days, ahhhh 5 days! Can't wait!

Try //ambergriscaye.com/message/ultimatebb.php?ubb=get_topic;f=4;t=008458 This pretty much covers it. One thing for certain, no lack of good food around. Different spots prepare things a little differently, or use spices differently, but it is hard to find bad food. Whether you are a fish eater or not, definitely try some grilled snapper or grouper. Do some conch ceviche and conch fritters (try the fritters at Caliente, my personal favorite). Breakfast at Estels, definitely hit Elvi's and Papi's Diner. A lot of the restaurants on the main web site have menus available. Wash everything down with Belikin or rum punch.
Been there, done that, the washing machine ate the T-shirt

You HAVE to go to Blue Water Grill at least for desert! Have their flourless chocolate cake with ice cream - to die for....and the espresso creme bruele....and the key lime pie....guess you can't tell we hit there for desert a few times (as well as very good dinners)

Yup, lots to choose from these days and almost all very good. I like Carumba's on Middle street, Stainglass Pub on Front Street,El Divino on Coconut drive, Celi's deli and restaurant on Front Street and of course BC's Bar especially on Sunday for the Beach BBQ, they are on the beach just past Sun Breeze Hotel and they also have a great restaurant. Like I sais there are soooo many now that it is hard to choose. Kat

Don't forget Josie's Kitchen (old la Margarita) for breakfast. Huevos Rancheros to die for!

George's kitchen for breakfast.
Cannibal's for a garlic shrimp sandwich(to die for) and a conch ceviche.
Fido's for conch ceviche and conch fritters for snack.
Blue water grill for salads(best) and sushi, and conch steak, etc for dinner.
Rasta pasta for late night snack(more ceviche, etc).
I personally depleted the conch population with all the ceviche and conch I ate last week, I think they closed the season early because of me:)

Josie's Kitchen has closed, I think that Duane is now at Costa Maya resort up north. SUPPORT YOUR FAVORITES! Chris

Thanks for the info. That site seems doomed!

Doomed for sure. Even after they finally cleaned up the (6 year long) sewage smell that would come from the lift station across Coconut Dr. La Margarita was good, but sometimes ya just couldn't get your appetite worked up.

The truth! I miss La Margarita, and certainly liked having George's Kitchen so close by, but something about that spot is cursed, that and the spot originally held by El Patio have had a bad run this year. There are a lot of restaurants now, in fact the town board has posted an ad saying they were not going to issue any more trade licences for restaurants. Chris Casa Picasso
