Looking to plan a trip for 6 30 somethings going to get away from the kids and relax. I am wondering about the following choices, can you rank them, or offer opinions. Based on our budget and what their web sites look like. Considering: Banannas Beach, Journey's End, Captain Morgans, Palms, Belizean Shores, and O'Farrell House.

It seems to me the first thing you need to decide is whether you want to be north of the cut or not. There are some beautiful properties there, but I don't want to be at the mercy of the water taxis. So, if you want to be south of the cut, then you have to decide how close to town you want to be. The Palms is essentially, in town. You don't even need to take a cab from the airport. You can walk. Seriously. Even with luggage. That would be my choice, because I love being that close to restaurants and bars.

Exotic Caye Beach Resort (www.belizeisfun.com) is where I stay. It is south of the cut and a 10 minute walk, give or take a minute, into town.

Try O'Farrell house they can accomodate your whole group! It's very spacious and spread out for the privacy of all it's guests. Close to town as well and the owners will even pick you up at the airport.

We absolutely loved Banana Beach. Everyone we talked to on the trip loved wherever they were staying. Looks like you can't go wrong wherever you choose.

We really like Belizan Shores, It's north of the cut but getting to town was never a problem. They have a resturant on site and one of the best pools on the island. If you book through www.belizeislandvacations.com you can get a great price on a 1 bedroom condo, even cheaper than the Belizan Shores web site.

Hey Senorfrog! I see by your profile that you are a loan officer! My husband and I have our own Mortgage Co in Houston.... Where are you? Good to know other up-tight mortgage people can relax and enjoy Belize like we do!!!

Hi MALIBU!

I'm About 3 hours down the coast in Corpus Christi and I try to relax and get away as often as possible. My girlfriends parents live on AC, they devloped and manage Belizan Shores and Coral Bay Villas. I try to recommend these resorts when someone ask, they are wonderful people and bend over backwards to help their guests.

If this your first trip to A/C, you need to stay south of the cut to take in everything in San Pedro that you can. We have stayed at Banana beach and I am glad that we didn't stay there the first trip as it is a longer walk to town that anyone will tell you. Nice place, good food, fair at best location, poor attitude by some of the employee's. We now stay at Captain Morgans and enjoy the peace and quiet that we find there. The employees are great and with a little planing, the distance from town isn't a problem. We will be back a CM's for our 30th anniverisery in Feb. and can't wait. Hope you have a great trip and look forward to hearing about it.
