Hi all,

My girlfriend & I are going to spend our honeymoon on Ambergris Caye, and are looking for some recommendations for accomodation.

We will be young newly-weds, so would like to be fairly near town, a short walk away so we can visit restaurants and bars in the evenings...

..and would like a nice place to stay near the beach that has a pool and a bar, so that we can drink cocktails by the pool!

There must be somewhere you know... can you tell us?!?!?

Can't wait to come! We'll be there in September.

Cheers,

Chris & Alex. smile

We highly recommend Victoria House. It is first class and very romantic. Seemed like most guests there were honeymooners. Has a great pool and bar and some of the best drinks in town. We would also recommend that you rent a golf cart for your stay since it is probably 1 1/2 miles to town. Worth every penny to have the golf cart.

We are vacationing in San Pedro as I write this. We are staying at the Palms, next door to Ramon's. Where we are is great but it is just villas. Ramon's looks great. It looks like Tiki Huts and it has a dock you can snorkle from. A good place to practice before going out. We have eaten there and enjoyed it. It is close to town and the beach is beautiful.
Can't think of a better place to honeymoon.

my husband and i just returned from our honeymoon where we spent 10 glorious days at ramon's in a beachfront cabana...there isn't another place we would have rather stayed. it was absolutely perfect and close to town (we didn't want to have to rely on anything other than our feet to get us anywhere). we are young too and there was plenty to do. i highly recommend it...we ate a nice meal at victoria house but it was definately a bit more isolated and the town wasn't nearly as accessible without a bike or golf cart. we also preferred the tiki hut look versus the manicured look of victoria house....regardless, the island is incredible and you will have a wonderful honeymooon...we are crushed to be back home...

Thanks for all your help! Those places look amazing.

Can you tell me, how much was it at Ramons? They don't publish their rates on the internet (although I have emailed them, I'm just impatient!!)

Cheers,

Chris

i had called them to get the rates. for 7 nights in the honeymoon cabana (request room #1), including breakfast daily, a snorkel trip, bikes for a day, the total was $1600. we ended up staying 3 extra nights though since we weren't ready to go home!
