wonder if a law suit will follow. seems the shark has already been judged. but od course, just as in the hot coffee case, stupidity seems to be a good excuse.

Coffee case: Always thought it was stupid, too, until I learned the facts of the case.

Her nephew was driving; car was stopped so she could prepare the coffee; the woman was burned so badly she required skin grafts to the very sensitive area (not a known fact or reported by the press); it was proven that the company in question knew how hot the coffee was & did nothing about it. Skin grafting changed my mind.

smile Hi all, I too am a diver who has been all over the caribbean and have seen several types of sharks, and I have seen first hand how a shark reacts when molested!!!! The dive master should never have held the shark!!! mad The animal was threatened and reacted defensivly to protect itself. Additionally nurse sharks are known to be one of the most docile sharks in the ocean if left unmolested. Respect the sea and it's creatures. wink

Okie:

It is not your fault that your items were stolen.

What the hell is the world coming to when completely innocent victims of crime blame themselves? How utterly pathetic! And that goes double for those who attempt to minimize or conjure up excuses for such criminal behavior.

FYI, Tom W.

I once left my booties at Amigos. They were waiting for me upon my return a few months later.

On the other hand, it could easily be argued, why would anyone want a pair of well-used booties. smile But I was still pleased to see that they hadn't been turfed out.

A fish and a bird can fall in love, but where will they build their nest?

HI, I clicked on this topic cos I guess i don't want to get bitten by any person, dog or shark Had a cat bite once and f*** it hurt like h***.
Mainly tho, I thought of my "big" (6'4") son, who is 16 and new to diving, and may NOT dive if we speak to anyone neurotic about this attack, when we get there....11 August. Nobody addressed
the "why" and "what not to do" of the situation. Finally, found an email, explaining the poor animal was provoked...so no worries eh?
I CAN'T wait to get to AC for the first ever time!!!!!!!!!

I let my 10 year old and 7 year old in the water with nurse sharks, I had no worries, our guide did not feed them. I for one do not agree with this practice, just my opinion.

Don't let this one incidence put a dark cloud over your trip, you will love the island.

Please write a trip report when you return.
