Tropic Air or Maya Air both have flights from BZE to Ambergris. Both also have web sites. There is also a water taxi, but it takes longer, and we've never used it.

As for where to stay, first thing you need to decide is north of south of the 'cut'. San Pedro is south, most bars and restuarants are south.

The north end is certainly quieter and has some beautiful properties. But, you will have to take a water taxi back and forth into town.

Depends on what type of vacation you're looking for. We stay on the south end. It's just more convenient and you can walk pretty much every where. Or take a cab.

Victoria House gets great reviews. We stay at Belizean Reef, but it doesn't have a pool if that's important to you. Jean

Try www.belizeisfun.com. It is the Exotic Caye Beach resort. Condo units that are very nice. If that price range doesn't suit you, try contacting Kat at [email protected] She has a one bedroom condo unit there that she rents out for a very reasonable price. I've stayed there twice and love it.

It has an above ground pool, nice beach area, beach bar, restaurant and a new dive shop has just gone in.

It is located south of the cut and only a 10 minute walk into town. If that.

We've stayed mostly south over the past ten years, but this June we stayed with family members at Belizean Shores about 4 miles north of San Pedro Town. Getting back and forth to town presented no problem, just a bit of keeping track of the time that the water taxi ran. Easy. The accomodations are first class and the prices are very nice. You'll not find a more comfortable place at a reasonable price.

Hey Bloom... You don't mention what type of "vacation" you want to have... Are you diving? Want to snorkel? Want to have easy access to restaurants and bars? If so, then I recommend closer to twon... We love The Palms, just a 2 minute walk to anyplace but also quiet... Dive boats will pick you up from the dock... Great view of activity along the waterfront...
If you want only peace and quiet and don't plan on venturing out much, then the aforementioned Belizean Shores has a GREAT pool and very relaxing atmosphere...
