I haven't moved into the digital camera age yet. Have a great Cannon Elph which has given us great vacation pics for the last couple of years. The instructions say it's sensitive to moisture. Never had a problem w/ humidity - not in Spain and later in Italy - no problems. Anyone w/ experience in this area?

Only problem we had was the leaky water bottle in the same back pack as the camera....That turned out to be an expensive trip. Plus, we lost all of our pictures. Jean

You might make sure it is well protected if you go out in a boat, it can get a little wet. We/ve never had to take any other precautions (like, regarding humidity) other than just assuring it doesn't get physically doused. Also, remember to take the camera and film in a carryon, not the checked luggage. If you have been following the board for any length of time, you should have noticed references to zip-loc bags. Bring some, they come in quite handy for all sorts of things.

Been there, done that, the washing machine ate the T-shirt

Thanks Bobber - the humidity was what I was worried about (don't know why I didn't just get to the point?)

Cajunman - thanks for the warning, but from the way boarders describe Belikin I already know I would never waste one that way ;)What were ya thinkin'? eek

I have a Sony digital that's just made it's third trip to San Pedro. Sure, it's got a little sand behind one of the lenses, but still works fine. I haven't touched my 35mm since I discovered digital! I have somewhere around 400 pictures from my last trip alone. lawcucui, don't worry
about it!...just use common sense when you have your digital out in the open. The pictures you will take will be priceless!
