Can anyone tell me what happened with Rasta Pasta and why she left AC all ready. We were really looking forward to eating there this Feb.

Coconuts Hotel sold and she didn't have a lease so could not continue there. She's doing fine back on Caye Caulker.

klcman - Margie is still there and is still managing the bar. She describes where the new owners of Coconuts want to build more rooms (to make a total of 50) and also a casino up on the roof. Things sure have changed since I first stayed there back in May of 2001.

Over ambitious I'd say! 50 rooms! Can anyone say "glut"???

Supposedly the Gov't. of Belize requires a minimum of 50 rooms to get a casino license. Coconuts has acquired the 4 lots across Coconut Drive so has plenty of room to expand.

Yes, the whole island is changing bigtime. We stayed on CC last May because AC seems to be losing the really slow quality we experienced on the first trip is 2000. Big changes at Coconuts and with the Hideaway gone it just ain't the same. Still love the place though! :p

Just had a few Belikins and Pina Coladas at Rasta Pasta on CC last week. The owners son served us. What a great guy. The drinks & service were great and the view...!

What about the view??
