Just concluded our third trip to AC in the last eight months. Do you think we like it? This time, Laura (Ms Irish) had responsibilities at home and decided to sit this one out. So my friend Liz from work joined me. Her first time to Belize. While I was on the plane, Laura came to her senses and for reasons not explained here decided that she just had to join us. As some of you know from other threads on this board, Laura started trying to contact us on AC. Special thanks to those of you who helped her with her decision and who ensured that she got in touch with me, especially Chris and immissing.

We arrived on Wednesday, 8/4.... Laura arrived Friday, 8/6... we were all supposed to leave the following Tuesday, but... being on an impulsive roll, Laura and I extended through Friday. And we had a fabulous time. Most of our story is told

San Pedro had become our home away from home, with good friends, funny stories and great memories.

There were a few folks not captured in our photos - though we did enjoy their company. They are Elisabeth (Ambar Jewelry), Gay and David from SPSC and the board, Chris from Pelican Realty, Julie (Caye Casa), Sammie and Aida from La Isla Bonita Tie on Clothing and Ivar from Belizean Arts.

Also a few of our favorite experiences weren't captured in our pix. They are usually centered around food or beverages: breakfasts at Lily's and Ramon's, lunches at Caliente's, the pan-roasted shrimp at Fido's, shopping for jewelry at Ambar Jewelry and Belizean Arts, buying woven goods from the Guatemalan ladies on the beach, reading books or sleeping under the palm trees, and lots of spontaneous giggles.

The big question is.... when are we going back?

Whaat....you stayed until Friday??? I gave up looking for you again after Monday!

Nice trip report. We gotta do something about "old Peters" groping hands

Chris... yep... we stayed. Since I finally got my stupid computer to connect to my company's VPN, I could justify my extended stay. We'll be back though, that is for sure, so we will catch you again next time. (BTL just couldn't connect to my VPN due to standards, or something like that, so I connected over satellite. Steve can explain it better. Anyway, BTL claims that if AC upgrades to their lastest release, it would fix the problem and the connection would work. Hmmm...)

Fluffy... Yes... we do have to do something about "old Peter's" groping hands. Any ideas? Anyone? There has to be a solution, since it has been said that you can teach an old Peter new tricks.(old dog... its the same thing) :p

Looks from the photos that a good time was had by all at NIGHT!!!. I guess you slept all day because there are maybe a couple of daytime photos. Long way to go just to barhop!! I envy you being able to take off at a moments notice.

Good observation. Actually, Laura is the official photographer of our group, and she spent much of her days either working or soaking in the pool. Before she arrived, I had taken exactly one photo that made the cut.

Jack and Rose... your observation for this trip is partly accurate, but this was also partly a working trip for us. We have visited AC many times before, and our past trip pictures would show all the views, day time activities and side trips. For this trip, we were up early for a walk down the beach and a bite... and then I unfortunately spent much of my daytime in the internet cafe and then by the pool. The heat and humidity was so high in August, that I chose to do my work in the air conditioning during the hottest point of the day. We also have so many photos of this beautiful island from past trips, that we no longer take as many photos of the views and can just enjoy them without carrying the camera everywhere.

Anyway, in the evenings, we would meet up with our friends from the island to catch up and have some fun, and this is what our photos have captured. So... contrary to what the photos may depict, we are not in need of AA meetings. Instead, we just did some ground work this time so that on future visits was can extend our stay into at least a month at a time and can get back to more balanced vacations during cooler seasons. I just felt the need to clarify, since I would agree that AC would be a long way to go to just barhop.
