Can somebody answer any of the following:
1. How many students at the Medical School in San Pedro are Belizians by birth?
2. Are there any Belizians practicing medicine in San Pedro?
3. Are there any Belizians practicing law in San Pedro?
4. If so, what kind of cases do they take?
5. How many lawyers actually practice law in Belize?
6. How many Belizian born individuals practice medicine in Belize?
7. Where did they get their degrees?
8. Are there any efforts being made at this point to institute a system of "everybody's right to legal aid"?
9. What efforts are being made to improve the living standards for the police force. It is my understanding that the starting salary for a police officer is $275Bze per week. Is this correct?
Any answers would be greatly appreciated.

I would be interested to know the answer to #9. There has been some discussions on the board recently about donations for the schools and library, but I haven't noticed anything about donations for the police.

jvid, I agree that several of kippe's questions would take quit a bit of research (read WORK) which is probably the last thing any of the regulars on this board would want to do...unless it was quality control at the liquor warehouse. laugh

However the question on the police I would think should be fairly easy to answer and would not take a year of living in SP (by the way isn't your year anniversary on the island coming up in a couple of months?). If there are things that are needed, it never hurts to let folks know. Never know when some cops might come visit.

Strange that Kippe asks all these questions on a tourism oriented board even though she's been living on the island for awhile now.

1. Exactly 22%, that is to say six (6)
2. Yes
3. No
4. Intentionally left blank
5. 145
6. 146
7. Six at Harvard, 11 at Cornell, four at the University of Kansas, three at Oxford, one at the University of Phoenix (on-line degree), five at Washington University (St. Louis) and 22 at the University of Texas. The rest all have their degrees from the Medical School of San Pedro.
8. Yes
9. Each officer is being given a can of mace and five numbers each week for the Chicken Drop. In addition, the four officers employed (in San Pedro) will, beginning next year, be granted the city's entire budget (appx. 1.2 million dollars) to be divided amongst themselves in any way they see fit.

Glad I could be of help.

Any other questions from anyone? You got questions, I got answers. I got a whole bucket full of 'em.

Hey Catatonic Motivator, For a catatonic, you are certainly prolific. I am especially intrigued by your response to question 4 and would appreciate it if you could expound on it for my edification. Thanks for widening my knowledge of the San Pedro legal and medical community. Sam laugh
