While you do have to scroll down to the bottom to read the addition, I whole-heartedly stress that everyone should read this and take it all to heart.

I think what a lot of us forget, no matter how well-meaning we are, we forget that we are guests in another country. When we step off that plane we are NOT in "Kansas" anymore. We need to look around, absorb and pay attention to the customs and regulations of the country.

So many times I hear "our hotel/resort was terrible, not nearly as nice as our hotel in Mexico" Guess what? You're not IN Mexico... if you're disappointed in your hotel and surroundings... go to Mexico. Belize is a very rare jewel indeed... eventually it will be over-taken and will lose it's charm and will attract the wrong type of people. Is this progress?

Having spent much of my life (not now of course, I am terribly respectable *cough*) either 'mixing with the wrong type of people' or being 'the wrong type of people', I wonder how much of the wrong is in the eye of the beholder. What is your 'wrong type of people?'. Open question in the hope of amusing myself with the answers in the morning.
