My soon-to-be wife and I are coming to Ambergris for our honeymoon during the last 2 weeks of October. I really want to catch some sailfish or marlin while we're there, but don't know if it is the right season. She wants to catch shark. What kind of fish can we expect to catch if we go deep sea fishing?

Grouper maybe. Sailfish and marlin are very rare. Not a lot of sharks either, other than the "nerf" variety.

Go to Panama or Costa Rica for that.

well tool guy the fishing here is more productive on the spots off or on the reef much better then deep sea fishing for a game fish ..plus you can troll or bottom fish your choice. and I like to go fish on outside of the reef,we call it other side ,or outside of the channels for big cuda, ,but mostly your action is lots snapper ,some grouper . and lots of fun and action
