I love snorkling around the Cancun area and have never heard of sharks except in big storms ( cause all the dying fish around the reef )What about Belize ,do the sharks ( burrrr) stay outside the reef ?

If someone approaches you and asks if you speak English, they are probably a shark.

Ask a simple question. Neil, we've seen nurse sharks snorkeling off the piers (we were snorkeling, not them). I think the other brands stick pretty close to the reef, either inside or out. Don't worry too much about the nurse sharks, if you don't mess with them, they won't bother you.

Well,

one area is called shark/ray alley if I remember correctly. But I would guess that it is because of nurse sharks, but don't know what species are present. When we went out for the first time, we were greeted by 2-3 of the nurse sharks. Was un-nerving for a few minutes, but after the boat driver dived in and waved back (with all fingers), we jumped in and they were harmless. Later I swam over the top of a group of them and got their picture. They seemed to be quite plentiful in some areas. I'd rather swim with them (nurseshark)any time comparred to barracuds, something un-nerving about them following me around.

If they tell you it won't work over satellite, they didn't try hard enough!

In our three week visit to San Pedro Town last Christmas, my kids and I snorkled around lots of nurse sharks at most of our sites inside the reef.

We'll always remember snorkling from Ramons pier when a shark my length(6ft) goes slowly by. People on the pier were screaming for use to get out, or be eat'n alive:)

Was it a big nurse shark or a bullshark? Why were people yelling for you to get out of the water if it was only a nurse shark?

A fish and a bird can fall in love, but where will they build their nest?
