We are spending Christmas on AC and would like to hear some stuff about the holidays and happenings at that time.
We mostly want to have a fun time at Christmas, for a change - a little partying, a lot of mellowing out, maybe some fishing, lots of strolling and sleeping on the beach.
Are traditions the same - I'm sure a lot are.
Are restaurants and business closed for the most part on Christmas Day - like in the States?
What is a typical Christmas Dinner?
Any and all info appreciated.

Christmas in Belize - lots of music and parties and presents.
Mass at midnight.
School plays and pagents.
Santa meets the kids at the Lions Den.
Decorations and lights.
Christmas trees (artificial but very pretty).

Traditional Christmas dinner - turkey, ham, rice n'beans, bread stuffing.
Many restaurants are closed on Christmas day - make reservations for Christmas dinner.

We also honor Boxing Day, which is a traditional English holiday, falling the day after Christmas. How do we honor it in Belize? Tripple time wages for workers, post office and banks are closed, and we lay around recovering from Christmas overindugence.

As for scuba and snorkeling - that business sector will be happy to serve you on Christmas Day - it's a fabulous way to celebrate.
