Congratulations to Jen and Chris! & to Merritt and Regan! Well deserved! mobunny

Fodor's, the world-renowned publisher of travel guides, has just released their new Belize and Guatemala 2005 travel book. Fodor's travel guides feature reviews on the sights, restaurants, hotels, and other travel experiences each country has to offer. Travel writers from all over the world collect information for the guidebooks and pick establishments that are the best of their kind; the best in their price range, or have a certain special something. The "best" is, of course, a subjective matter, and Fodor's listings are not meant to be encyclopedic. If an establishment does not receive coverage, it does not necessarily mean it is bad or unsuitable.

Out of these reviews the editors recognize the very best of their type with a "top pick" distinction, known as Fodor'sChoice. An establishment boasting a Fodor'sChoice accolade is considered as something not to be missed and always worth your time. Ambergris Caye can be proud that the ONLY two restaurants in Belize that were given the Fodor'sChoice were Capricorn and Casa Picasso.

Both, Capricorn and Casa Picasso were recognized for distinct atmospheres, outstanding food and desserts. Owners of Casa Picasso, Chris and Jennifer Eager told The San Pedro Sun that they were excited to receive the recognition. "It is a real honor to be one of Fodor'sChoice," said Mr. Eager, "There are so many good restaurants on the island and we were surprised and very pleased." Regean and Merritt Rushing, owners of Capricorn exclaimed, "It is great. We are ready to make our mark in the tourism industry. We are simply ecstatic."

Fodor'sChoice's in other categories in Ambergris Caye include the Hol Chan Marine Reserve and Cayo Espanto, in the lodging category.

Two Thumbs up for AC! I have to agree - the "cracked coconut" dessert at Picasso's is the absolute to die for. I think I'll order two of those in May when I return laugh
