The Visitor
We had a visitor, not one easy to take,
A path of destruction was all he could make.
He invaded our lives just four days ago,
Nobody wanted him and he just wouldn't go.
His name was Keith, Hurricane Keith,
He shot up the waves and settled over Belize.
A Class four hurricane to be remembered by all,
The destruction it took was a great fall.
As buildings came down, roof tops as well,
The streets became flooded and the sea began to swell.
People took cover in whatever they could find,
Other homes, friends no one seemed to mind.
Then came the internet, people would come,
Looking for info, eventually joining as one.
Marty, our leader, with many sleepless nights,
Guided us all, in whatever the plights.
He provided updates on the storm and people too,
He kept a big list of where and who.
You can be sure of this one big thing,
That Marty showed us what selflessness can bring.
Now that the storm is over and reports are coming in,
People looking for family and rebuilding is the next order for him.
He is a great person, a gods send to all,
What would we do without Marty on the ball!
The damage was great, and no one despaired,
With all the help and the work, everyone cared.
From boat docks, to buildings, food and supplies,
Everyone will get on with his or her lives.
No one from anywhere around the globe,
Didn't seem to know what happened unless they were told.
Word spread quickly through out family and friends,
We all joined together to help make the mends.
The sadness & pain, was something we didn't choose,
Now we're stronger than before, Keith you lose!
All I can say about you now Hurricane Keith,
Is that I'm glad your now out of Belize!

I originally wrote the first part thinking that was all that I could put in. But after seeing about the relief efforts, I needed to revise it. Hope you all agree.
