My husband and I are coming to Belize for the first time in Jan. We reserved a honeymoon cabanna at Ramons. Any advice or information would be most appreciated. Our interests are snorkeling, fishing, nature, shopping and dining. Thank you.

We stayed at Ramon's for 10 days last year and comming back to AC for 3 weeks in March. If you enjoy snorkling you should consider scuba lessons. Evenings can be a little cool if you chill easly and want to sit out on the pier. You will enjoy the dogs on the beach. Watch for Shadow, a yellow lab. He spends hours and hours fishing in the surf at Ramon's, and yes sometimes he actually catches something.

Ramon's is great. Lots going on and good location. Yes, bring a sweater or light jacket in January.

Thank you for your replies. My husband is the snorkler. Is the snorkling good off the pier at Ramons? I like to fish. Can you fish off the pier? I would like to pack light. Did you use the laundry service at Ramons? Was the food good?

Stayed in honeymoon cabana a few months ago. There are two of them. Try to stay in the cabana in front of the beach, and not in front of the sea wall, although not very important...just my preference. They are pretty big and very nice. Use the dive shop at Ramons to snorket at Hol Chan and Shark Ray Alley..they do a great job. Be sure to eat at Jambels, Elvi's, and Blue Water Grill. Buy some beer at the market to keep in your fridge...little cheaper than using the bar. Whatever you pack, remove half. Nothing fancy, either. Have fun!

Ramon's is not the best value for the $$ but it is a nice place and fits exactly what some people are looking for. Active, good location, good dive op, great beach (for Belize), live entertainment, tropical feel. If you are looking for value over ambiance, yes, there are better deals. But for a full service resort with "tropical island ambiance" Ramon's is hard to beat.
