We are arriving in March, 4 of us from Canada.
My question is this, My buddy and myself dive, but our wifes do not, but love to snorkel. Can you rent a boat with a guide to take us diving, while the girls snorkel in the same area. Then off to an island to have lunch, catch some lobster relax on the beach or on the boat. we have been in Cuba the past 6 years, (yes I know get a life) and we have always hired a boat and guide and done just this. We love meeting people, but at the same time would like to have a day of only the 4 of us instead of a boat charter with 15 other people and on a scheduale. like to have this on our rules and time scheduale. If there is such a trip, can anyone tell me how much money and who does this? Also if we meet another couple or 2 in the same baoat ( no pun) we can hook up and go together.

JB, we did that a few years ago through Hustler. The weather was rough outside the reef, so we had to dive inside, fairly shallow, but we also fished, snorkeled, and the crew made up a shore lunch up at Basil Jones. Pretty much the whole day, and back then I think it averaged out to about $50 US apiece. I think there are probably quite a number of people who would do it. Check the dive shops, they should be able to set you up. We usually get a boat to ourselves for fishing or daytrips close in. Sometimes it costs an extra $10 a head, but we prefer not to have a lot of strange folk along on a smaller boat.

Also, lobster season is over on Feb 15.
