Thank you so much for all the wonderful advice. I've been reading these boards for weeks. We leave for Ambergris Caye tomorrow! We'll be there until the 2nd and then to Santa Elena.

Here's the q: I haven't booked our snorkeling/scuba yet as I was planning to do it when we arrive tomorrow. but then I just sort of panicked today, do you think we will be able to find someone reputable to take us out this late? I feel like an idiot for not booking this earlier!

don't worry. You can book any of your tours/snorkel/scuba when you get there. There are tons of dive shops along the beach, and if there isn't a boat going out in one shop they will call around and find you one that is going out with room for you. Enjoy!
