My son is going to be getting married at the Blue Dolphin. We are looking for some music for the wedding. Does any one know of someone that or a small group that plays for weddings. We will be in AC feb 12 to 19th. Also thanks everyone for the great info this board gives. Mike

What kind of music are you looking for? There are numerous musicians on the island, anything from traditional Garifuna drumming to rock and roll! Also several DJs. An option would be to contact belizeweddings.com.

We're looking for a group or someone that will add some local flavor to a very low key wedding and party. How can I find out about the Garifuna drummers.

Listen to Jesse. Will and Dale would be the hands down answer. We used them for our daughter's wedding last June and you cannot find anything better on the island.

it seems that the board favors Will and Dale and they are great. Another consideration would be Dennis Wolfe. If you still want to talk to someone about the Garifuna drummers call 600-1113 and ask for Mario or Carlos. They also have a group of Garifuna dancers. For a large wedding try the Punta boys (Mario again), or depending on when you are going to get married either Barefoot Skinny or Tony Brown. Punta Boys plays stuff like punta rock, reggae, the other guys do reggae as well, but also some rock and roll, pretty much anything you want.

Hey Mike
I'm not sure of the age group of your crowd, but I would say the "punta boys" are definely for a younger crowd. We've heard them, and I'm not sure I'd want them for a wedding party. Our son was married on the island last June, but we just hired someone for the beach ceremony. The suggestions about Will and Dale, or Dennis Wolfe, (he'd be my choice for a mixed crowd, all my kids loved him)are probably a good choice.
One other suggestion: We had a great "rehearsal" party the night before the wedding with a sunset cruise on the Lady Sharon. Rodney will treat you
great!
