Just looking for cool, not necessarily in the guidebook stuff to do while we're down there. Places to eat suggestions welcome too.
Thanks much

Depends on the level of cool you are looking for. One thing that Jan and I will not miss is too get up way too early a couple of mornings, make coffee, and sit on the beach and watch the sun come up. Take a few pictures and create a few memories. Live the dream and enjoy.

You can swim with your arm around a nurse shark, touch the wings of stingrays, ride a speedboat to climb the Mayan ruins, catch bonefish, buy a ticket on the Wed.nite chicken drop, and eat seafood until you look like a new aquatic species.Perhaps you can build on this.

Snorkel off a dock and see a seahorse; being in awe of the caves; watch the most beautiful sunset on a dinner cruise; driving a golf cart north and south of the cut (go everywhere. don't miss a road); meet the most friendliest people around and build some life long relationships; coming back home with a revived feeling of appreciation for what you have emotionally/spiratually and feeling pretty darn shitty about all the materialistic items we put such emphasis on; but best of all, waking up each morning knowing you are in paradise.

Yeah Fluffy. After a few beers, I always wonder why so many "disadvantaged" folk get to live on Carribean islands, and so many "rich" folk live in the snow. Kinda makes you wonder sometimes.

Probably our best memory, really hard to pick from so many, was our trip in '02. We got a boat and crew from Hustler for our party of 6. We loaded up tanks for the divers and headed north. Stopped and did some fishing, collected some conch, one of the crew did some spearfishing (just a sling, of course). We snorkeled, made a few dives, and then pulled into Basil Jones for a great fish meal with fresh conch ceviche. A really relaxing lazy day.

I loved it all, but, it's funny, one of the most simplest memories sticks out in my mind - it didn't last too long either but I loved it - was leaning over the boat trying to spot seahorses in the water and the gracefulness and peacefulness of them.

Oh, and also the King crab I had at Carambas - it was soooo big that my family had finished their dessert and still had to wait for me for a further half an hour to finish whilst I tried to get every last bit out - absolutely scrummy!!!!!
