Going in August and staying at Casa Tortuga, anyone stayed there before? Good bad? ALso, how is the heat in August? Is there a decent amount going on at that time?

It was hot last August, but also one very rainy, windy day (because of a tropical wave, which was Hurricaine Earl). It is hurricaine season, so hard to tell.

Visited Casa Tortuga last Feb., some people we met were staying there. Great pool, view. They could not say enough good about their cook, Maria, I believe it was. House is large with large guesthouse, interesting decorating and theme. Very private. Hope this helps.

Have been to a dinner party there and visited some friends staying there. It is very private and has all the amminities you could ask for with a great staff that will forfill all your requests.It is first class with a wonderful pool. Transportation is easy as all cabs know where it is and it is not too far from town. Enjoy!

I also stayed there in June and cannot say enough good things about Maria and the accomodations! She cooked 3 incredible meals each day; we did eat 2 dinners out. She also provided appetizers and desserts many evenings and kept the frozen drinks flowing. You will have a fabulous time!!!
