Hi everyone,
Can anyone give me advice on what or what not to pack? I haven't seen this subject for awhile but this is what I remember.........

Bathing suits (duh!)
shorts
tees
flip flops
a good book
beach towel

I have my own snorkel gear but though about leaving the fins at home,(they are so BIG) any feedback on that?

Is it a good idea to bring a sweatshirt/jacket? Long pants?

We arrive March 17th and can't wait to get out of this freezing weather!!! cool laugh eek

IMO:
1. leave the fins and rent
2. bring ziplok bags (SJ where are ya wink ) great to put stuff in and I always pack any "adult liquids" in one just in case....
3. cash

light jacket/rain parka good idea, especially if you opt to make a run back to the mainland on one of the tour boats to the ruins

A couple of bathing suits is a good idea. They never really dry out completely and get kinda ripe after a few days. Bring a few kitchen size garbage bags for dirty or wet clothes. Extra ziplocks to put your camera and such things in if you go out in a boat. Film goes in the carryon both ways.

Been there, done that, the washing machine ate the T-shirt

Just returned from two weeks in Belize/Mexico. Beach towels are usually supplied by the hotel. Bring a hooded sweatshirt and long/or workout pants for those boat rides, windy evening, and to keep bitting bugs away. Bring bug spray, sunscreen, hat/visor, lots of film, and plenty of money. Food and material costs are similar or more than western standards.

I'm not an expert on packing but getting there. My trips last 9 days and I now only travel with two pieces of carry on luggage. No kidding! Here is what I pack:

6 bathing suits
6 bathing suit cover ups
4 pair of shorts
5 Tank Tops or t-shirts
2 pair of flip flops
1 Sweater or sweatshirt
2 pair of capri pants
Undergarments
Suntain Lotion
Camera/film
Toiletries
A couple of ziploc baggies
Hairdryer
**Money**

I find that if I run out of clean clothes, I can either go to the laundry mat or ask someone to go for me. However, I haven't run into that problem yet. In fact, with the above mentioned, give or take a few items, I still find that I overpack. No lie!

And my motto is, if I don't have it, I'll buy it.

Enjoy your time in AC. I am sure you'll have an awesome time.

A regular carry on then a large bag that looks like a laptop bag. I carry my toiletries, camera and such in that bag.

Don't forget to bring underwater cameras!! The snorkling is fantastic and the pictures come out great! Plus, if you don't want to take your digital or good camera on a boat, they work! I was on AC in January and I needed a long sleeve shirt and long pants. It was a little cool a few evenings and the boat rides were chilly!

Fluffy, SIX bathing suits!! And I thought I was bad with three!

I brought a sun dress too. There was one night we went out and I wanted to "dress up". It was a very casual dress but I'm glad I brought it.

this will be my second time in ac in late feb. some might think me a vagrant but here's what i'm bringing this time:
* 5 swim trunks ( colorful ones that double as shorts - rinse them out each night and they're good to go)
* 10 tee shirts (one trip to laundry mid-week - paradise villas picks up and delievers)
* 1 pair of sandles (wore them everywhere)
* 0 bug spray ( never needed it)
* 1 wind breaker (mostly carried it around - used it once on fishing trip)
* 0 deordorant (there is no nervous sweat in ac)
* 0 shave kits (let it go)
* 0 towels (paradise villas supplied them)
* 1 pocketful of small bill cash (the atm in town works)
* 3 paperbacks (there is some down time)
* 10 zip lock baggies
* 0 pjs ('cause you know why)
* 2 bags of chocolate kisses (for the wonderful woman who owns the art gallery in caye caulker)
* 1 set of snorkling gear (i like my own - it fits)
* 2 disposal underwater cameras
* 2 regular disposal cameras
* 1 ipod with all my favorite music
* 1 idea that if i forgot something i could get it in ac
* 1 wife who would rather stay home
* 1 unbelivable urge to relax and relish in the fact that i'm not at a club med
