Same weather conditions caused lightening and started a fire at Paradise Inn in Crooked Tree.

Still suffering with your botfly bite, Rich Guy? Hope your return trip wasn't in any way, shape or form with Jetsgo! Glad I wasn't coming to Belize with them today...

I heard something absurd, and was only half-listening to the news... but I think they said that a few weeks ago Jetsgo was having trouble paying for their fuel and their planes were only taking partial tanksfull.

So Jetsgo were told by Transport Canada that their worldwide ceiling was 29,000 feet. Excuse my blondeness but, wouldn't the plane that crashed from 29,000 feet be in as much trouble as one falling from a higher altitude?

PattiCake, partial fuel loads are normal and I suspect the report was more sensationalism than factual. Planes generally carry only enough fuel to make the intended flights plus a required reseve or safety margin to reach alternate airports. Carrying more fuel than necessary is a huge waste of money for the airlines or private pilot. Fuel is weight that must be carried which requires burning even more fuel just to carry it.

I don't get the ceiling restrictions either. It takes more fuel to climb higher, but is usually done to reach favorable winds at altitude, which offset the extra fuel burn.

No Jetsgo for me, I had a bad run in with them last year flying back from New York. Swore I would never fly with them again. Glad I made that choice! Althought I am flying USAir back on the 31st! Hope they're still alive by then! hahaha

Not sure about the 29,000 ft thing, where did you hear about it?

Larry, jetsgo had to pay cash for fueling the past few months so from what i've been hearing they were stopping at airports that offered lowest cost fuel.

JetsGo went belly up last night at midnight, cancelling all flights, stranding passengers and removing their signs from airports.
