I just scooted ovah there by way of my keyboard ... putt putt putt

Since hubby is a Pastor he was on-line a couple of times last year due to the nature of “business” so tis an added convenience for folks who are "on a working vacation” and need to check-in.

Since he was on-line, I had to check emails. I have no self discipline at all laugh

Now the scooters ....

Personally, the quietness from the absence of cars, cars, and more cars - is defiantly one of the reason SP is such a special place - IMHO.

What brand new venture? The scooters or the business in general?

Being the competition and owner of Island Internet cafe I went in to check it out a few weeks ago. Their setup is a Linksys router or access point with a few laptops and a payphone system. Looks like they have incorporated a phone card system for that unless they are selling BTL cards.

Looks like they sell a lot of other knickknacky sorts of things too. It is not called Island Internet, it is called Caffe Latte.

Their site is ok, certainly better than mine at the moment, since I have spent exactly zero seconds on it so far. Their services menu item shows that they also provide conferencing capabilites.

By the way, wireless (wifi) is coming to II soon. The router is actually already there, just has wireless disabled until I get the security aspects in place. I could just turn it on now, but configuration for walk-in laptops requires a better and proper solution. Stay tuned if interested....

If anyone is looking for a beer while they surf they should either check out my place just around the corner, or Steve's place (Coconet Cafe) in town. We are the only cafes with a liquor license. At this point, Steve's is the only place with a full bar if you are looking for more than a rum punch.

Happy surfing everybody smile

Thank you, I think, for your comments. I was actually asking if visitors have used their services or know that they are there ~ not wanting to hear the competion being critical. Island Internet has done well up to now.... I wish you the same good luck that I do the Caffe Latte //
And I have no connection to this business.

We were just in SP the first week of March. We met the owners of the new internet place on our plane ride over. They were getting their scooters the next day. They were very friendly guys and we enjoyed learning about the island from them. The girls and I decided to check out their shop and had a good time drinking lattes and e-mailing everyone back home. One of the owners was there and helped me get going since I was a little knew at it. We thought the service was great and would definitely go there again. I will say though that we didn't go into any of the other places. I'm sure they're all good.
