Caye Caulker Snorkeling - 10/14/03 05:51 PM
Wondering how the snorkeling is on Caye Caulker. Will be on a cruise stopping in Belize. Contemplating taking a water taxi to Caye Caulker. Is there anything to see in the waters near the split?
Swimming at the split is nice, and I do see people snorkeling. The best snorkeling is dont with a guide, at the reef. The reef is too far from shore to swim to. The boat traffice, while not heavy, is too dangerous to swim out past the end of the docks. Taking a water taxi to Caye Caulker and hooking up with a 1/2 day snorkel tour is usually much less expensive than using the packages from the cruise ships.

Hi, You can rent Canoes and paddle to accessible snorkelling spots around the caye. It is an affordable way to have some fun. For something more organised the local tour operators will be able to accomodate.
